Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBC’s)
The FIBC is a large bag which is made of woven polypropylene (PP) fabric that is usually extrusion coated to provide additional barrier and leak-profanes. The bag is Prepared by stitching and adding accessories like handles or straps/loops to facilitate mechanized handling.
The bags are usually printed in one or two colors. They also come equipped with aids to filling, closing and discharging like flaps, valves and spouts The capacity of each bag typically ranges from about 200 kgs to 2000 kgs depending on the material used.
The design and construction of each bag depends on the material and weight/volume to be handled and the method of handling, filling and discharge. Generally, the bag has to be custom-designed for each individual user. The bags are usually used in combination with pallets.
